On the Bench

I have presided over Class C misdemeanor criminal cases, including jury trials and cases involving parents contributing to truancy. This experience has given me a strong understanding of both courtroom procedure and the real world impact these cases. I approach each case with fairness, respect for the law and an awareness of the lasting impact these decisions can have on families and our community.
CRIMINAL CASES
CIVIL CASES

I have significant experience presiding over civil cases with claims up tp $20,000, including eviction and truancy cases. I understand that eviction cases can threaten housing stability and that truancy cases,if not addressed correctly can have a long term effect on a child's future. My approach balances accountability with fairness and focuses on outcomes that serve both the law and the community.
DEATH INVESTIGATIONS
In addition to my courtroom duties, I am also responsible for conducting death inquests. This requires me to be on call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and to be immediately available to work with law enforcement, medical professionals, and grieving families. This is one of the most serious responsibilities entrusted to a Justice of the Peace. I carry out this responsibility with compassion, and respect for families during their most difficult moments.
